Toys for Tots

So as most, if not all, of you know I am in the Marine Corps and they are the sponsors of the Toys for Tots toy drive. Last weekend was my drill weekend, and I was privileged to help with the collections of toys and donations. I have to say it was amazing how generous people can be.

On the first day I was in the median of a street for only about two hours and I would guess I collected between $500-1000. One guy even gave us a check for $150. All total we collected about $18,000 in the first day.

That doesn't even include the thousands of toys that got dropped off, and they were not all cheap. People were dropping off bikes and remote control cars, and everything you could imagine pretty much.

On the second day I had to leave at noon, and they were already up to $11,000 and tons more toys.

It was so cool to me to see that even in these tough times people were still throwing in 20's and even an occassional 50 or 100. It was also mostly people driving average cars, and not the people in Lexus's and BMW's. It really made me happy to see how generous they all could be.

If you want to donate to a charity and don't know where to give, I would highly recommend donating to Toys for Tots. It goes to kids that really need it. I have personally known people that have benefited from it, and it is a great charity.

Ward Christmas Party!

So it was the ward christmas party last night. I sat on santas lap for the first time. He sure was a skinny santa and a beard that liked to fall off but I liked all the red on him because it matches my hair. I asked him if I could get somemore cute clothes for christmas and hairbows because I love to play dress up. Mommy wanted to get in the picture to but obviously I am cutest she doesn't even have a chance with me in the picture though I do get my good looks from her. Daddy couldn't come with us cause he was in Fort Worth for drill this weekend and I missed him very much. I got to play with my friends Lindsay. When we sang the twelve days of christmas lindsay and I were the eight swans a swimming in the air. Everyone thought of how cute. I can't wait till I get bigger and actually really tell santa what I want for christmas instead of mommy telling santa what I want. Anyways I can't wait to see everyone on christmas hooray!

Great Husband!

I have the best husband ever. Tuesdays are my day that I work a whole day at work instead of 5 hours and on that day dave is so productive. He had did the dishes, had washed the clothes, attended to our daughter livy, made phone calls for looking for a job, and he went excercising which we have been trying to do better at now. So he calls me at work to let me know what he had done and I couldn't believe it. I honestly don't know what I would do without him in my life. It is nice not to have to do all the chores around the house and I don't even have to ask him he just does it. We are also on a huge learning kick right now about financial stuff so we can better ourselves on how to save and invest. It is so fun to do this with him and we get so excited about being rich someday because we are going to be rich and no one can tell us other wise we have a goal and we are stickin to it. We are going to learn as much as possible and then decide what is best. Good luck to us. So I love you husband and never forget that.

Playtime

So Olivia loves playtime and likes to play with mommy and daddy. She loves it when we make faces at her and stand her up on our lap. She talks to us all the time and it is so fun to see her huge smile. I added some pictures of her in her favorite chair.

Freakin Hilarious

So my wife jacked this from someone elses blog, but it is so hysterical that I needed to share it with other people. I was going to email it but this way is so much easier. It only takes a minute to read so enjoy it.

Austin radio sucks!

I actually wanted to write this a couple of days ago so my anger may have subsided some, but the facts still remain. Austin prides itself on being the live music capital of the world which i personally question, because outside of two major festivals, most of the shows I hear about are lame. But alas, I digress.

Their radio stations suck. There is one station that claims to be alternative, but plays mostly crap that sounds like it came from the 80's, and their talk is so disgusting I can't stand to listen to it and I am not easily offended seeing as how I am in the Marine Corps.

Due to a lack of options, I am forced to listen to a country station which is decent, but like all things, it must be listened to in moderation. I am so sick of country at this point.

For awhile I tried bringing my ipod, but I got tired of the same old songs all the time, and I am too poor to buy new music. So in retaliation I have downloaded conference sessions off the internet as well as an audio recording of Jesus the Christ. I'll show them for playing such crappy music. I will increase my spirituality and probably feel better about everything. HA!

Laughing!

So my daughter was playing on Dave's lap last night and my husband sneezed and all of the sudden Olivia thought it was hysterical and started laughing everytime he did it so we grabbed the camera of her laughing. It is so funny we couldn't stop laughing because she was so tired and just thought daddy's sneezing was funny. So here you go.

Marine Ball

So we were just up in fort worth this weekend for the marine ball and we got some adorable pictures of Olivia in her cute dress and a cute family picture. Olivia was really good besides the fact she totally burped when it was quiet but other than that she was great. Dave and I had a good time. Of course I love getting dressed up it is so fun. Why do girls love getting all dolled up and it only lasts for a couple of hours. I don't know but I love it.

This is a picture of Olivia getting ready for the ball in the sink. She looked like she was just chillin in her own little tub it was quite funny!

First time for real food!

So Dave and I decided it is time to start feeding Olivia baby cereal. She was showing all the signs of still being hungry after a bottle moving her head and following food when we ate it so we decided to try. Oh my goodness she loves it and she can't get enough of it. Obviously I was starving my baby and I didn't even know it until now. She gets mad if I don't go fast enough for her it is quite funny. Here are some pictures of her first few times.

Drooling Baby

So this is my daughter drooling all over. It is quite funny. She just started vibrating her mouth together and she loves it.

Trip to the Fire Department

So as you all know I don't have a boring life and I do dumb things in it. Here is what happened to me this morning. I wake up pretty early to go to work so I decided this morning I wanted to try to put my wedding ring on to see if it finally fit after my pregnancy and me gaining so much weight. It got on but then I noticed it is pretty tight so I got the wrap of it off but the actual ring I couldn't get off. So I woke dave up and said I can't get my ring off and I don't know what to do. I tried soaking it in cold water, ice, and olive oil but nothing. It was getting pretty swollen and starting to hurt. So I started freaking out and said we have to go to the ER. We hopped in the car and dave said let's go to the fire department they will have the tools to get it off. So we knocked on the door and the fireman said come in we have a saw to take it off. It took forever for him to cut through it and it hurt like crazy because it was pinching at my skin. But needless to say I have a broken wedding ring now and a swollen finger but at least my finger was saved and it could have life back in it again. I felt so stupid afterwards and now I pretty much am laughing at myself for how dumb I was oh well I can fix my ring so it is okay. Look below you will see my damaged ring so sad!

I just want everyone to know this was my first presidental voting ever. I feel very proud of myself and I am glad I kept up on the canidicacy. Dave and I went to the early voting last week and waited in line for 40 minutes. This is my call to anyone who looks at our blog to stand up for what you believe in and support our country it is the least we can do to show our support for the USA and to God for letting us live in a free country. Yeah for voting!

Fashion show

Seeing as how I am a little girl, the most adorable little girl ever, I love changing my clothes all of the time. Sometimes when mommy and daddy don't change my outfit enough i get it messy so they have to. It is hilarious. Anyways, I just thought I would show all of you some of my favorite outfits.
My aunt Mary sent me some cute socks for Halloween and they just made me even more adorable. They are so soft and cozy and they went great with my favorite onsie.
When you are as cute as me, you have to go out and show everyone because you have to share your talents with other people. So I had mommy take me to lunch with my friend Laura. She is pretty cool, but she does like sushi, yucky. Daddy says I have to be nice even though she likes yucky food.
You can see my cute costume from Halloween in the blog below this one, but daddy wanted everyone to see the cute words on my feet. I am quite lovable.
I had a new dress to wear on Sunday, and I was so freaking adorable. There are lots of babies in our ward, and they all like me. Being this cute, I have to workout during the week so that I can fight off all the boys, cause boys are yucky, and they all like me.
After church I had to put on my favorite outfit. I'm not quite big enough for it yet, but I have to support the Rangers, heaven knows they need all the help they can get.
Daddy is a good looking guy and all, but I am so much cuter in pictures by myself.

It is hard work being so cute. Luckily I have a fun swing that mommy and daddy put me in. It helps me to relax when I get tired and go to sleep even without being wrapped up or with my binky in.

I am the cutest ladybug

cute is all I have to say!
My face says it all freakin adorable!

I like being on my Tummy!

Hi everyone mommy took me to get my halloween pictures today and I was so good for her even though I was tired and running errands with mommy all day. We had sushi with one of my girlfriends, I know I am going to love sushi someday it sounds so good. The lady who took my pictures made me giggle and smile a lot I really liked her and I told mommy I want to go back there someday and play with her. She told me that could be arranged. Daddy hasn't even seen these pictures yet but when he does I will have him wrapped around my finger because let's face it I am freakin cute and nobody can deny that. He is in for it when I am older because all the boys are going to be chasing after my cute butt! Oh crap I said butt mommy and daddy are going to put me in time out now to look at the wall even though they say the word butt to each other all the time but I am the one who has to freakin look at the wall. Oh and now I sassed my mommy so that means a even longer time out. Geesh will I ever get this right. I know I will just give her a cute smile and I will be out of time out it always works. Bye everybody.

Something cool

So I am sure many of you, like us, had the primary program at church last Sunday. It was like most programs with good spiritual thoughts, and a few laughs cause kids do funny things. What I thought was really cool was how many of the adults in the audience were mouthing the words to all of the songs during the program. It was also cool how many people sang the songs the congregation joined in on without opening a book. It just goes to show the influence that primary has on the rest of your life. It wasn't just the younger people mouthing the words either, it was older people that had not been in primary for a long time. I just thought that was really cool.

My sweet daughter!

So when we were in Fort Worth we went to the Botanica Gardens and took some adorable pictures of our daughter. I wish sometimes she could sit in the pictures by herself but she is not old enough for that yet. You will see my arm in the pictures quite a few times. I feel so overwhelmed to have such an amazing daughter. We had a lesson on tithing today and know for a fact if you pay it he absolutely blesses you and blessed me with with a great daughter she is so happy all the time and sleeps when she is supposed to and with that a great husband who loves both of us so much. How could you not think heavenly father doesn't love us and blesses us all the time. I am so glad he is in my life and I can always go to him and to be able to teach my daughter this someday. Enjoy the pictures above.

The Greatest Wife!

So I would just like to tell you all that I have the greatest wife ever. Beyond all of the usual stuff, and despite her confusing a lion for an anteater the other day(it was hilarious), she reaffirmed her greatness yesterday.

I had my drill weekend and her and Livy came with me for the BYU game(so sad) and just to have some fun as can be seen in the pictures below. So yesterday morning we had our normal Sunday morning workout which isn't usually too bad but definately a good workout. So I went through the first two stations just fine and got to the third station which was fireman's carrys and ammo can lifts. I got carried down to one end and then went to pick the guy up to carry him back to the other side and my back just wasn't having it.

I spent a good ten or fifteen minutes trying to be able to stand up and walk back to the car, and then spent most of the day waiting at different places just to be given a couple of pills and told I hurt myself. (I'm telling you doctors are the biggest joke in the world most of the time.) Throughout all of this waiting my sweet wife was helpful and patient with me even though I was being a little frustrating at times.

Despite her making fun of how I am walking right now, which is a little crooked, she has been so great. I'm so glad I married such a great person because it makes crap like this so much easier to handle.

So we are in Fort Worth right now which I always call it Dallas and Dave gets mad at me and says they are two different places but they are the same to me they are right by each other only an hour away. I really do it to piss him off! So on thursday night we went to a horrible BYU game and they sucked it up completely fumbling the ball, the quarterback throwing it wherever he wanted and my husband was completely upset that night as you would know so it wasn't so fun for livy and I. Then yesterday we went to the Fort Worth Zoo and it was really fun livy was as usual a good baby we have pictures of it below. Dave is now on base for the next couple of days for the reserves so livy and I are just chilling at the hotel and my daughter is crying as we speak cause she is tired but doesn't want to go to sleep. We like coming with Daddy when he has reserves at least I get the nights with him. I hope you like the pictures.

So we went on our first family vacation last weekend before I had to go back to work to San Diego, CA because tickets were so cheap and Dave and I missed it so much and the food there we decided to go from Saturday till Tuesday. We had so much fun we stayed with our friends Matt and Angelina thanks guys we had lots of fun. We finally got our rolled tacos and california burritos at our favortie hole in the wall mexican restaurant called Cotijas we loved it. We also got to eat at one of our favorite Thai places called Bangkok Thai with my old coworkers they loved Olivia and all of our friends did. They kept on saying she is a mini you. I like being told that. We listened to Conference at our friends house on Sunday and then we went to Lajolla Cove after conference this is one of the places Dave proposed to me at. We like to go there and ponder about things it is so beautiful there and I love the ocean and sea lions. Then that night we went to our friends house SueHey and CJ house it was good to see them and there kids they have grown so big. The next day we went to Seaworld which olivia loved and stayed up pretty much the whole time and was such a great little baby. She loves being outside she loved the cove to. Here is a slide show of our trip. We sure do miss San Diego.

Unsure

So we decided that we aren't sure our family likes us enough for us to spend the money to come home, so if you would like to contribute to the I want to see my new niece/granddaughter/cousin/great granddaughter fund please send check or money order to Olivia's parents.

Just kidding, we just bought our tickets to go back to Utah for Christmas and Olivia is so excited to meet everybody. She is asleep in her swing right now cause she is so excited. We will be there from Dec. 24-Jan. 5. This is all assuming I don't find a better job first which is really what we want for Christmas. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible while we are there.

Back to work

So I started back to work yesterday and can I just tell you I hate it. I don't want to be here at all I want to be home with my daughter and it was really hard last night. So I talked to my mom yesterday and she says to me just remember you need to feel blessed for your job and that Olivia is a healthy and happy baby. I felt sordof dumb after that so it made me a little humble for what heavenly father has given me and the time will come when dave will get a better job but just not right now I need to have faith in god that he knows what is right for me. I just needed to say that.

What is it with women and biting?

So the other day my wife says she can't resist and she bites our daughter. Then I am talking to my little sister and she says SHE can't wait to bite her because she just looks so yummy. Does anyone else see the problem with this. You spend years trying to teach little kids not to bite each other, I think John and I did our fair share of biting, and then you go and bite them. Something is just not right about that.

Livy trying to talk

It is really funny all of the different sounds that Livy makes these days. I am sure that she will only continue to make more sounds as she grows up until she reaches the point where we just want her to stop talking, but it is really adorable right now.

Amanda needs consolation too sometimes

Last night we put Livy to bed and decided we would just let her cry for a little while so she would wear herself out. It was hard on mommy so she had to use the pacifier herself. I am happy to report that she made it through just fine and so did the baby.

My wife kills me sometimes

So I was just on the phone trying to get some stuff done and my wife was being hilarious. First she got mad at me because I cleaned the coffee table out and she couldn't find the checkbook so she told me to stop cleaning and organizing. Then she got mad at me cause she says I hate her, but really she was just mad because I took the best blanket to take a nap with. She also just told Livy that she is a baby. We are all so impressed with mommy's brilliance. I love my wife so stinking much. She just makes me laugh all of the time.
